Liverpool's Star Issues Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has disclosed that Salah said sorry to the entire Liverpool squad in the wake of the controversy from his televised remarks.
The Incident
He was omitted from a vital match subsequent to making accusations and stating his connection to the head coach had deteriorated.
“Salah is an individual and he can say his own stuff,” the midfielder said. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
Arne Slot has previously declined to disclose on whether he received a personal apology from the 33-year-old forward.
Looking Ahead
Jones insisted that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, his demeanour was positive and everybody was exactly the same with him,” he continued.
The midfielder also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is less of an issue. “I get that there are different methods you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just sit out, then I think that’s a bigger problem.”
Positive Results
The team's performance have been impressive in the period after the initial controversy. Jones believes the Salah's words were not intended to harm the team.
“When there’s been any sort of anger, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re gelling well as a team, performing and starting to win games.”
