The newest Far Cry game that audiences dived into was Far Cry 6, that featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and debuted during October 6, 2021. As a series, it is famous for embracing action and mayhem with the same glee, all while weaving gripping, socially charged stories. It’s no surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry limited-run show brought on board two visionaries whose projects have embodied all of those qualities.

Inspired by Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the short-run anthology series is set to premiere on Hulu and is being made by FX Productions. The anthology will also follow the video games' style by featuring a fresh backdrop and group of personalities in each season.

Executive Team

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series via their production banners, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared outstanding partnerships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” said Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is fresh, engrossing, and wildly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our partners at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this popular property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we are unsure of what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just approved for a second instalment, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Having the opportunity with Noah Hawley is a fantasy come true,” stated Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, entrusting us with one of the most famous video-game worlds ever created. And along the way, my FX partners continues to lift me up with their constant belief and assistance.”

Each game is a interpretation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To create a big action show that can evolve from season to season, while always examining the nature of humanity through this complex and unpredictable lens, is a long-held aspiration. I’m thrilled to collaborate with Rob and introduce our shared unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the screen.”

A schedule for when we can anticipate the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus globally.
