Detentions Made After Four Individuals Wounded at Birmingham Entertainment Venue
A man is in critical condition and three others have been hurt in a violent episode at a venue in central Birmingham.
Emergency services were dispatched to the establishment on Bristol Street at approximately 03:00 BST, where they discovered multiple individuals had been shot.
Multiple individuals, in their young to middle-aged adults, have been taken into custody on alleged connection of public disturbance in association with the event as the inquiry proceeds.
The individuals were located in a vehicle on the motorway in Warwickshire a short time later and are being held in detention, police officials have reported.
The roadway—one of the central roads into the urban core—has been sealed by police.
It is closed in one direction from a local landmark to an adjacent street and is anticipated to remain closed for some time.
Acting Ch Insp a representative appealed for individuals with details about the incident to reach out to investigators.
"This happened in a crowded club, on one of the main roads leading from Birmingham, so it's essential that we receive accounts from individuals who saw what transpired or who may have recorded it on mobile device as they passed by," he said.
"If you were in the nightclub at the time and saw what happened, or recorded any video from within the establishment, we need to contact you urgently."
Police are continuing to request for bystanders or anyone with pertinent evidence to contact them.
